Recreational Burning Permit

Burn Permit Requirements

A burning permit grants the individual permit holder to burn small amounts of leaves, clippings, brush, and other clean untreated-unpainted wood as long as weather conditions do not pose a fire hazard.  Burn permit regulations are authorized through the MN DNR. For up-to-date information on permit conditions visit the DNR Website

To request a Burning Permit, contact the St. Francis Fire Department at 763-753-2334 or stop by the City Hall at 23340 Cree Street NW. Business hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm and Friday 7 am-11 am. There may be times when no one is available at the fire station due to emergency response. Calling ahead and leaving a voicemail if no one answers may be necessary.

The fire department may request to inspect your burn pile before a permit is issued.

The fee for a Burn Permit is $10.00 as adopted in the City Fee Schedule.
