The City of St. Francis has been able to blend rural and city living into a unique community of over 7,500 people, serving a market of approximately 21,537. The City of St. Francis serves as a regional commercial center for Northern Anoka County and Southern Isanti County.

Our main Highway 47 corridor provides prime commercial sites that serve the local economy and commuter traffic needs.  This 126-mile stretch reaches from Minneapolis to Aitkin with daily traffic counts exceeding 12,000.  The corridor provides retail leasing and development opportunities.  The city is promoting redevelopment and development within commercial locations surrounded by strong business partners.

The Bridge Street corridor serves as a commercial downtown serving local residents, families and students of those within the St. Francis school district. This area offers restaurants, retail and various services, along with multi-family housing.  With redevelopment and development space available this corridor includes a prime commercial lot along the river.

Business Subsidies and Tax Increment Financing

The City of St. Francis has opportunities for businesses subsidies. Through the use of TIF or below market lot sales the City will review.  If a subsidy is provided to your business or organization we will work with you to identify public benefit criteria. The St. Francis Economic Development Committee reviews each application and makes a recommendation to the City Council.
