St. Francis Forward

Moving forward with (re) Development planning for the City of St. Francis.

The purpose of the St. Francis Forward study was to develop a plan for the future development and redevelopment of the core of St. Francis. This was completed through four actions:

  • Develop a Vision and set of Guiding Principles to guide future public and private investments
  • Provide a Master Plan to guide public and private development
  • Establish "springboard" project ideas for key sites most ready for redevelopment or new development
  • Identify and define a key metrics that can be used to measure progress and the value of the master plan and planning process.

The development of the St. Francis Forward plan included community surveys and public meetings to gather information to listen to resident concerns, interests and ideas.

On October 16, 2017 the City Council adopted the St. Francis Forward plan and authorized staff to begin working on the goals and action items defined within.   Additionally, the St. Francis Forward Plan sets the base for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan within the two main transportation districts and will move forward with land use outlines to support both documents.
